Habitat Permanent ponds, reservoirs, quiet stream pools, large, deep marshes, and slow-moving streams and irrigation ditches are typical habitats inhabited by the American Bullfrog in Colorado. Preferred habitat generally has areas of deep water, cattail stands, and often some woody vegetation over the edge of the water.
